The Challenge:
To create the visual design of a mobile responsive app that rethinks how people can interact with the YMCA. Focusing on engagement, health recommendations, and coaching, use the UX teams research to produce High-fidelity designs.

Mood Board
YMCA Fitness brand represents community values with deep history. Looking back into this history helps draw insights into a better way forward with understanding and wisdom. Taking a look back at the history of YMCA through photographs and design. Inspired by 80’s advertisements to frame the design with curated community photos and graphic layout with text at the bottom framed in a white rectangle. The majority of the color will be in light blue with red highlights for CTAs representing the traditional look of the YMCA.
Style Tile
The goal of this design is to make the gym goer feel like they are flipping through motivational magazine ads while relaxing at the community pool. That is, the YMCA welcomes everyone, injuries and all. This design represents the guidance of humble experts wanting you to succeed.
Athletic, Energetic, Supportive
Mood Board
YMCA Fitness represents the drive to lift each other up and make everyone feel like a superhero. Comic pop art text that is used to support the user in reaching goals in certain situations. Red/Orange to Yellow colors to get users excited and energized to use the app. Energetic images controlled in rectangles so it doesn’t become chaotic. Bold text and graphic images to be clear with an athletic feel.
Style Tile
This design was created to get people excited excited about exercise with pops of bright colors and comic styling. The goal was to make the gym goer feel like a professional super hero without having to pay premium prices.
